If you are thinking of what to pack in your suitcase for a Princess cruise holiday then look no further. Formal nights and dress code depend on the length of your cruise. 1-3 nights – No formal nights and all nights are smart/casual dress 4-6 nights - 1 formal nights and 3-5 smart/casual dress 7-13 nights – 2 formal nights and 5-11 smart/casual dress 14-20 nights – 3 formal nights and 11-17 smart/casual dress 21-28 nights – 4 formal nights and 17-24 smart/casual dress 29+ nights – 5 minimum formal nights and 24+ smart/casual dress

On formal nights generally passengers get dressed up.  For females, an elegant cocktail or evening dress and for the gentlemen a smart trouser suit or tuxedo is perfectly acceptable.  Anyone embarking on a cruise should know that formal nights are not mandatory and can be opted out of.  However, the majority of passengers really enjoy the formal occasions and dressing up is a bit of a novelty.
